Frequently Asked Questions

1. What types of clients do you work with?

We work with individuals, couples, and families. Our specialties include substance abuse and recovery, trauma, anxiety, depression, cultural adjustment, and relationship issues.

2. What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is mostly about getting to know you. We’ll talk about your goals, what brought you to therapy, and what you hope to get out of the process. It’s also a chance for you to see if we’re the right fit for you.

3. How long are sessions?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes, though some couples or family sessions may run a little longer depending on needs.

4. How often will we meet?

Most clients start with weekly sessions. Over time, as progress is made, we may shift to biweekly or as-needed sessions.

5. Do you take insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider, which means we do not bill insurance directly. However, we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

6. How much does therapy cost?

Session fees vary by therapist. Please contact us directly to discuss current rates and any sliding scale availability.

7. How long will I need therapy?

Everyone’s journey is different. Some clients see progress in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll collaborate to find what works best for you.

8. What if I’ve never been to therapy before?

That’s completely okay. We know it can feel intimidating to start. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can show up just as you are.

9. Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Everything shared in session is confidential, with a few legal exceptions (such as risk of harm to self/others, or reports of child/elder abuse). We’ll review confidentiality in detail during your first session.

10. What if I need immediate help?

If you are experiencing a crisis or emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also call or text 988 to connect with the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
